A LETTER TO MY KIDS

Image
Hi there kiddos, This is my first letter to you even though you are not yet born, but of course you'll be born. Four strong boys. You, my first son, will be named Kojo. The next is Samuel, then David-Sampson, then the last, William. You guys are named after some great people in my life – my dad, a combo of my brother and my almost-twin friend, myself, and my Christian guru respectively. Let me cut to the chase. I am writing to you just to talk. We'll talk about what I'll do for you, and the dos and don'ts of our family (Am I a dictator already?). Don't worry you'll enjoy this. What I’ll do So, let's start with what I'll do for you. I'll provide all your needs, surely I will. But I'll NEVER provide all your wants. This is to teach you modesty and contentment in a very materialistic world, and I know your days will be more materialistic than mine. When I was a kid, my dad your grandfather provided my needs, but never, I mean never, did he pr

MTN AND FERNANDO TORRES

What have Torres and MTN in common? Well Torres used to be a prolific striker (and of course a feared one)in his days at Athletico Madrid and Liverpool. After joining Chelsea, Torres is now past his prime and is utterly useless. MTN can be likened to Torres; MTN is past its prime and is UTTERLY USELESS! The litany of MTN's inefficiencies is too well known, notorious in the least! In 2012 we all witnessed MTN at its worst. The Daily Graphic of Tuesday, 4 December 2012, carried an article on its back page where the NCA ordered Scancom Ltd – operators of MTN – to stop the sale of their sim cards due to massive network disruptions which greatly worried customers. Data services could cut for half the day before it was restored. Sometimes subscribers could only receive but not make calls and vice versa. There were and are times that you call somebody and the call gets on a totally different line. Dubious and spurious loss of airtime or credits also adds to the inefficiencies. T

THE ANCHOR

Image
Will your anchor hold in the storms of life When the clouds unfold their wings of strife When the strong tides lift and the cables strain Will your anchor drift or firm remain? We have an anchor that keeps the soul Steadfast and sure whilst the billows roll Fastened to the rock which cannot move Grounded firm and deep in the Saviour's Love  - MHB 634 An ANCHOR is a heavy metallic object that is lowered from ships or boats to connect the vessel to the BED of the water to PREVENT THE VESSEL FROM DRIFTING DUE TO WIND OR CURRENT . The role of the anchor is so well defined here. In light of the metaphors, the anchor represents a person or a thing capable of holding us down or firm in the face of life's difficulties. For most of us (and at least for me) our anchor is our Dad. He pays our fees and gives us money too so we are very trusting of and dependent on him. For some others our anchor is our friends, riches etc. All these anchors are good but are they able to prevent

The Life of Man

Man is born free And everywhere he is in chains Man sprouts as a sturdy tree And his days are all but pains Man's many desires are his curse Greed, lust and pain his bane Man's wants never meets his purse Needs are met only in pain A man is rich and has it all Pride, arrogance and haughtiness his face Pompous and spiteful he goes about his call Death at length becomes his case A man is poor and has but nothing Humility and want are but his face Lowly and poor he goes about his thing Death at length becomes his case Man's fleeting life is his only truth The good die off early and young His impermanence is his only fruit The wicked stay up and live long All men have but a choice God beckons, everyday He calls All men must heed this voice To gain eternal life, else fall.
